Hello! I am Rachel Oldfield an illustrator and printmaker based in Gloucestershire. I love creating richly textured worlds that sit between the familiar and the unseen. Working with brush pen and risograph printing, I draw on folklore, nature and everyday rituals for inspiration to create imagined scenes in my fluid drawing style.

My work explores ideas of joy and connection, shaped by an interest in dreamlike imagery, the subconscious and the subtle strangeness of everyday life. Often featuring mythical creatures, curious figures and gentle narratives, my layered compositions seek to transform fleeting, ordinary moments into playful images that drift between memory, imagination and everyday objects.

My background is rooted in illustration. I studied illustration at Brighton University, completed a Masters in illustration at the University of Gloucestershire and teach illustration at Birmingham City University.
